Running teaches me I can accomplish anything through self-discipline, perseverance, and consistency. I have learned to love the process of setting goals, putting in the work, and exceeding expectations.
When the quarantine started and track season was cancelled, I set a goal to run and workout every day. Because I was disciplined and determined, I won District Championships the following seasons in cross-country and track and was awarded team MVP. As I continue to work hard every day, my passion for running grows and I want to improve and compete at the next level.
Following this same pattern yields success in all aspects of my life. I'm top 7% of my class with a 4.4 GPA, 4-time Academic All-District, and have been voted captain in both volleyball and cross country. I have all A's (so far) in my AP classes and scored a 4 on three AP exams and a 3 on the other one I've taken. I've played club volleyball since 7th grade and been on the varsity volleyball team since my sophomore year where my teammates voted me freshman MVP and the Varsity Play with a Purpose Award. My volleyball team and I placed third at nationals in 2022 and won several tournaments. Being a dual-sport varsity athlete has also helped me remain injury-free. I am a leader in my Church's youth organization where I plan and attend weekly services and activities, as well as attend daily scripture study class. I know how to focus, balance my time, and prioritize the important aspects of life. Because of these qualities and my desire and commitment to running, school, team, and faith I will be a great student-athlete at the collegiate level.
