Personal Statement
- As a student-athlete I have found athletics to be the most influential thing in my life, from my coaches to the discipline and things athletics teach you. Growing up I was a competitive gymnast which led me to running track. I was sure that I would be doing gymnastics in college and that it was my sport (spoiler, I was wrong). One day at one of my practices we were doing conditioning, we had 25 laps around the gym to do in 5 minutes. I had finished my laps in 3 and a half minutes, way before everyone, so my coach automatically assumed I had cheated and made me do it again, on the second time he counted my laps and I had done it even faster, and at the moment I finished he looked at me and said "kid, you're in the wrong sport", and ever sense then I have been in love with running. Throughout my track career I have learned that no matter how good you are, if you do not work like you are the worst, you will never be the best. Some of my academic goals while being in high school are maintaining an above average GPA and doing well on my SAT. Outside of my college athletic career I would like to study business. I look forward to hearing from you!
