Personal Statement
What makes me stand apart from other athletes? My high school counselor says that I am like a burst of sunshine every time she sees me. I have a very positive attitude and am willing to work hard to accomplish my dreams. I know that hard work and dedication are the keys to my successful future. A positive attitude will also take me far because I will serve as a positive voice for my teammates. An athlete must have strong character in order to be a good teammate and student. My family has taught me that values and morals are of great importance. I believe in honesty at all costs and the value of working hard to get what I want out of life.
Athletics and academics go hand in hand. Therefore, I am working hard in all of my classes to help prepare me for college. I started taking advanced mathematics courses when I was in 8th grade. I know that math will help me be successful in my future career field. I am excited about next year because I will begin taking dual credit courses in place of my English and History courses. This will help me prepare for collegiate athletics because I will already be accustomed to taking college courses.
I hope to attend a four year division I college to compete in triple jump. I love this event because it allows me to compete as an individual as well as be part of a team. Attending a four year college will allow me to become part of the complete campus life. I would like to study in the medical field so that I can help others.
