My name is Eva Vasquez, and track is my passion. To me, being able to compete and get better is one of the biggest blessings and opportunities I’ve been given. My dream is to compete and do track as long as I am able at a competitive level, because it is an incredible pillar in my life that has taught me about discipline, setting goals, and pushing myself. Being able to work hard with people who care about this sport is my favorite thing about being on a team, and I can’t wait to continue to get better. Currently, I am focusing on hurdles/800 and doing multis, specifically the heptathlon over summers.
As a student athlete, I maintain a 4.0+ GPA while balancing volunteering and working at my church, part-time working in the restaurant industry, and club activities. I am working on a religious podcast as well, as my faith is what drives me both on and off the track. My free time is often spent with friends and especially family. I would like to study construction science, architectural engineering, or business and pursue a career as a residential contractor/site superintendent. I would also like to be a coach for the children in my community in the future, and be able to continue track endeavors even after my career is over. I cannot wait to build an academic and athletic future in a great school!
