I can be an indecisive person, but I am very sure about my desire to run track in college. I have become more passionate about and more committed to running each season. The last five years of track have taught me numerous life lessons and given me many opportunities to practice perseverance and hard work. I have grown physically and mentally stronger from year-round training, adjusting to different levels of competition and challenges, and developing strong bonds with my coaches and teammates. Throughout my junior season, I have learned a lot about myself and especially the importance of focus; I realized how necessary it was for me to focus on my goals for myself and my team along with the work required to achieve those goals. I have fulfilled many of my goals in the last three seasons such as breaking and holding school records since my freshman year in the 100m hurdles and 300m hurdles, competing in the State Championship Meet each year, and consistently and obviously improving throughout year-round training. Maintaining good grades through the last three years of high school has also been important to me and I was awarded Academic All-State junior year. Every year my passion for track has grown and my times have consistently dropped each season so I am excited to continue training and see what I can accomplish in the upcoming indoor and outdoor seasons. My amazing coaches have given me the training and confidence to try to pursue the opportunity of running at the collegiate level. I hope to take what I have already learned from track, continue to grow and to contribute greatly to a college team in the near future.
