Emma Simmons '19 Recruiting Profile

I've had the passion for running and competition ever since I was ten years old. I am very competitive and hard working on the track and in the classroom. My goal is to compete at the next level and be a dedicated student-athlete. I have lettered in track all 4 years of high school. My freshman and sophomore year consisted of running in all three relays. My sophomore year, all of our relays competed at the Regional track meet in Arlington, TX. My junior year was the first year competing on an indoor track. I finished 7th in the 400m at the Texas Tech Under Armour High School Indoor Classic and competed at the Texas A&M High School Classic. In the outdoor season, I ran a PR and set a new meet record for the 400m at the San Angelo Relays with a 56.2. This upcoming season I plan to work even harder and achieve even more. My goal is to qualify in the Texas High School State track meet.

Outside of track, I work very hard in the classroom. I have earned an academic letter each year of high school, and I am a member of the National Honor Society. I am also involved in extra curricular activities such as Student Council and MOAS (Model Organization of American States) at Midland High School. On Sundays, I attend Stonegate Christian Fellowship and serve as youth-leader for 6th grade students. 

I hope to bring my leadership, hard work, and competitiveness to the collegiate level.
