Personal Statement
My goal is to be the best I can be for myself, my coach, and my team. In life, I believe that you must sacrifice who you are for what you will become. I've dreamed of going to Nationals to compete at such a high level, since I was a 7th grader. I'm an athlete who's confident and driven. I strive for success daily and I don't give up. As track season rolls around, I become very disciplined with my workout schedules and sleep patterns. When I vault/run, I forget about everything else. I don't think about my problems or worry about the things I cannot control. On the track is where I escape, where I zone-in and focus; where I feel like myself. As an athlete, focus, hard work and consistency are key. Nothing in life is free, you must earn what you get and I am prepared to do everything it takes to be the best.
Grades are extremely important to me. Im very committed to studying and always make sure I'm learning the material and not the test. By being actively involved in my school work, I’m able to focus and learn the skills I need for my degree. Wether it’s a hands-on skill or an independent skill, I learn by doing. I have come to find that being close to your teacher/professor and being in a smaller class, I’m able to learn more and get help if I need it. If there's one last thing you should know about me, it's that I compete with my heart. I love being on the track, it's my second home.
