MARIANA RODRIGUEZ CHAVEZ '19 Recruiting Profile

After participating in acrobatic gymnastics for 7 years, I decided to step away and try a sport that I could do in high school. My coach found me in a regular PE class and suggested I try out for the cross country team. I started out at the bottom of JV and slowly made my way up to the top of the team. Track has taught me that even when your giving your best, you can always give a little bit more. I've learned all about patience, persistence, and perseverance as I made my progress from a gymnast to a runner. I want to go to a university where I will be challenged, both academically and athletically. I wish to become an engineer, either chemical or nuclear, and work at a large corporation. I seize every opportunity receive, and I face every challenge head on with an optimistic spirit and an open mind. I believe I am a great candidate for your team because I bring positivity to those around me even when the going gets tough, and I believe I can make your program better with what I have to offer .
