One of the earliest highlights of my high school career was competing in Texas Relays as a freshman. However, I feel I grew the most as a student-athlete during my sophomore year when our relay team didn't do so well at the 2nd largest meet in the United States. That experience helped me realize and lead me to re-focus my goals as an athlete. I decided that I wanted to continue training and developing in order to get further in competition. I knew if I wanted that, I need to improve my skills in order to succeed and run track at the college level.
As an athlete I am always setting and maintaining high goals for myself in track. I am receptive to coaches' advice and will cooperate with any guidance and coaching. I'm also very conscientious and will tend to be dominated by a sense of duty. I believe that I not only have the talent to compete at the college level, but the correct character, work ethic, and drive to be successful, not only athletically but academically as well.
