I am Kashley Carter, and I love distance running. I started the summer before my freshman year, and I haven't stopped since. Running is both a physical and mental challenge, but I love the feel of putting myself to the test. I have worked hard, missing as few practices as possible and doing the ones I do miss at home, and that work has paid off with new personal records. I am a committed athlete, willing to push myself to the limit, and I want to continue pushing myself to become better and faster.
Running isn't the only place I want to improve though. I am also very studious, and I seek to learn more to become ready for the real world. I take the most difficult classes my school offers, including both concurrent enrollment and college Ednet classes. Even with harder classes, I have maintained a 4.0 GPA. I do the very best I can in school and on the track, and even though I'd rather be running, my education is always my top priority.
My goal is to make myself better in all ways possible, both physically through running and mentally through at least a Bachelor's Degree. I know that the college experience is the way to accomplish both. It would be amazing to compete as a college athlete, and running would be the perfect complement to receiving a college education that would prepare me to be successful in life.
