Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Emerald Kehr and I love to run. I train hard and enjoy competing in Cross Country and Track and Field. I support my teammates and encourage positive mindsets. I have a 3.94 Cumulative GPA and I am currently ranked 48 out of 593 classmates at West High School in Salt Lake City, UT. I have run on our Varsity teams throughout high school. I have been a Varsity team captain for both our XC and T&F teams. I am the 2022 USATF Utah State 800M Champion and Region (UT, ID, WY, MT) 800M Champion. I finished 13th at the 2022 USATF Junior Olympics National Championship in the 800M. As a Sophomore. I was the “Rookie of the Year” on the Girls Varsity Wrestling team. I was raised in a Marine Corps family and have travelled and lived around and outside the US. I completed 2.5 years of JROTC and was second-in-command for a year. I won the 2019 JROTC Orienteering-XC UT State Championship. I am part of the Civil Air Patrol where I have completed five training flights. I love running, flying, skiing, weight lifting, traveling, and art. My goal is to continuously improve my times and to run/compete in Division 1 athletics. Coaches have stated that I have grit and I am coachable. I look forward to meeting you!
