Personal Statement
As a cross country and track runner, the list is endless regarding the things I've learned throughout the years. I have been running track and cross country for over six years now and have loved every second of it. It has shaped me not only physically but even more spiritually and mentally. Stepping up to the start line on the track or XC course, waiting for the gun to go off and crossing that finish line gives me a strength that I can't even describe. I have been determined to run in college since 7th grade and have run with that mindset ever since. I have a great work ethic and attitude (individually and with my team) that will bring a multitude of strengths to your team. I am not only focused on just athletics but also very focused on academics, knowing that is the most important when it comes to a college decision.
There have been many obstacles that I've had to overcome but none that have ever stopped me from doing what love. I look at my losses not so much as a negative but more as a drive to do better and become a stronger athlete. Being a contributing part of a team is something that I love about running. Being the captain of my cross country team, I know for a fact that your teammates are the ones that help you become a better athlete and support you through everything. With my drive and attitude, I know that I have what it takes to be a key component to your team!
