Personal Statement

Senior in high school looking forward to continue running in college once I graduate in June 2014. Track is what my life revolves around. I've been running since elementary school, but I've been competitive since my freshman year. My dream for high school track was to make it to NBN, and this past season my team and I qualified to go for the 4x8 as I also qualified to go for the mile race. The experience at NBN was the best, I look forward to competing at the meet again next season.

I have school records in the 1600m (5:02.6), 1000m (3:00.72), 800m (2:19.29), 3200m (11:20.11), and I am apart of the 4x8 school record (9:47) and the 4x4 school record (4:07). This season at the Region I meet, I became region champ in both the 1600m and the 800m. With running the 1600m, I broke the region record that was previously set at 5:07. This season of cross country (2013), I broke the schools 5k record my 12 seconds, making the new record of 19:12!

I am a member of USATF. Summer of 2012, I competed in the junior Olympics. I made it to nationals in the 1500m, with my pr of 4:56.

With running the 1600m, 800m, 4x4, and 4x8... etc. My coach likes to use me in a majority of events to help score points for the team! Like in smaller meets my coach may have me run the 4x8, turn around and run the 1600m, then finish it up with the 800m. Depending on the days.

This year I started back up in cross country with a season opener time of 20:45 -- at the Maymont Invitational. Ending out my cross country season at the state meet with a 9th place finish and a time of 19:12, was the best moment ever! It felt great to finally break 20 and what better meet to do it than at the state meet! It was a great season as our team placed the highest in state out of our school history... our girls team placed 7th in the state. Proud day, very happy moment!

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
