Personal Statement
I began running track when I was seven years old. In fact sports had always been a part of my life, but track was the only one that I actually fell in love with. Throughout my years of running I’ve realized that I am more determined than I ever gave myself credit. While pushing myself to become a stronger athlete, I discovered new levels of potential within. My freshman year of high school was pretty rough in regards to athletics. I attended a new school with new coaches; I felt lost beyond words. Since then I learned the technique of triple jump, along with long jump. I also improved my 55m, 100m, and 200m. Winning conference my junior year in the 55m was an event that verified improvement in both my speed and technique. I also placed first in triple jump at the AAU District Qualifier that same year. I would consider myself a coach-able, talented athlete with great work ethic.
My academic goals for high school are to graduate from my academy with honors. With that being said, when I get to college I would like to remain focused on the big picture of earning a degree and also furthering my athletic career at a collegiate level.
