Personal Statement

Track and Field isn't just a "sport" to me. It's my passion. While many things I have experienced throughout my years in high school have had an effect on who I have become, the biggest impact on my life has been track and field. I have learned so much from how to work with a team, striving to work hard to reach your goals, to being discipline, and how to cope with failure. These aren't only things that will help me on the track, but also later in the future. It has taught me the ways to persevere through all obstacles, to work through the pain when it feels like you're end is near, and to just work hard because things don't come easy.

As my high school career is coming to an end, I should prepare for what is to come in college. I want to become what is considered "good" for a top notch college or university. I will manage every single second in college so that my schedule is prepared for any track related thing. If that means I have to come to the track early and fill in for a teammate and stop my studies, then so be it. Yes education is much more important then sports but I can't let any part of me give up the thing I love most. Track will always be my #1. In college I plan to study business and communications so that hopefully one day I can open up my own business and pass it down to future generations. I also don't have a preference on how big the school population is as long as I'm in a good place, that's all that matters. Along with that, I'm looking towards an out of state D3-D1 university. But also as long as I'm doing track, I'm good.

I am a junior at Burlington-Edison High School. Currently have a 3.7 gpa and planning to take my SAT by the end of the school year. When I come up with that I will make sure to keep updating. My biggest accomplishment in high school track has to be when I made it all the way to district finals as only a freshman. I was shocked that I was one out of two freshman's that qualified in long jump. This year I plan to go to state and with the help of my teammates and coaches, I know I will.

I will make sure to keep updated on my NCSA profile and if you have any questions feel free to contact me at any time. I'm always available. Thank you so much, hope to hear from you soon!!
