Personal Statement
My name is Elizabeth Oosterhout and I am avid cross country and track athlete. I am most proud of leading my varsity team to a first place finish at State (4A) for cross-country in 2011. I was grateful to be rewarded Most Valuable in 2011 for cross-country, Most Valuable in 2012 for track, and Most Valuable in 2012 for cross-country; along with receiving the Coaches Award in 2010 for cross-country. I have been on the varsity squads for both cross country and track since the beginning of my freshman year and have made State six times to date between the two sports. I am aiming to repeat at State this track season.
I am a hard worker and I set high standards for myself, both athletically and academically. I have challenged myself academically by taking multiple AP courses. I have not fully decided on a major, but I am most interested in the medical field.
I am looking for a university where I can continue to be challenged in my running as well as my scholarship. Ideally, I would like to be part of a distance running program that is highly competitive and with a strong team camaraderie.
