Personal Statement
I started running track 10 years ago at the age of 7. My first year of running, I won Seattle's all-city meet for the 50 meter race. After that I truly found a love for track and I started experimenting in running the 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, 4x100 meter relay and the 4x400 meter relay. I went to the Junior Olympic Championship for the first time in 2012 where I competed in the 100, 200 and the 400 meters; after feeling the rush and thrill of getting to travel and represent my team to do something that I love I knew I wanted to do track for a very long time. And here I am seven years later still sprinting and loving it! Being committed to an individual sport like track for such a long time has taught me discipline that I couldn't have learned any other way, and I've found that it has helped me with time management and perseverance in my school work.
