Personal Statement
I have officially been running since 6th grade, but I really started as a toddler going to track practice with my dad. My love for the sport started the first time I stepped onto the track. Fortunately, I have had support from my entire family from the beginning. My mom says I literally went from crawling to running and jumping. That is probably why high jump is my favorite event, with long jump and hurdles as a close second. Continuing my track career and competing at a collegiate level just feels like the right choice to me. Being able to continue my favorite past time while pursuing a degree in the medical field is my dream. Leading my team to states with a 3rd place finish in 2021 and a runner-up finish in 2019 was a privilege. It was an honor to be able to perform at my best to represent my hometown. I love being a team role model and creating an optimistic environment that can help motivate others. It is always an aspiration of mine to set a good example for upcoming freshman, and do anything I can to boost team spirit and help lead us to success.
