Personal Statement
This year I began track for the first time. My dad, sister, and brother all did it and I thought I would give it a try. I started off on Jv until I high jumped 4'6 - tying the current highest jumper at our school. I began to try all the running events, even hurdles. A few meets later I offered to fill in as the 1st leg for a 4x400. I ended up surprising everyone by running a 1:04 my first time and handing off the baton a whole 30 meters in front of everyone else. This is when I officially switched to varsity. My coaches love my adittude; I will try any event and not complain. I currently hold the 4th fastest open 400 time in my school for girls and the 6th fastest time for the 300 hurdles. I am in both events the 2nd fastest on the 2016 team. I am the only freshman to advance this much in this many events this year. I hope to be able to continue running in college because I love the sport. If I could I would try to do 10 events to be a decathlete. I would be a good athlete for your team because I have years to improve (currently only 15 years old). Also, I am extremely motivated and hardworking. I do not complain as I know practice needs to be hard to build a better athlete. Another thing I could bring to the team is my attitude. I am always cheering for my teammates and I have a good sense of humor to lighten up the nerves. Contact me if you want to hear more of my story!
on a side note I would like to mention off season I am on the swim team and am very dedicated to that sport as well. I did gymnastics last winter and gold last summer. I used to do basketball and soccer as well. Acedemicly I am a very good student. I am in all honor classes with all A's and A-'s. I take schooling very seriously and I am joining the Heathcare academy next year. I dream of becoming an orthopedic sports medicine physician ( combine my love of sports with love of Heathcare ). I hope I can travel with a sports team, maybe track, and help their athletes!
