Personal Statement
Running has always been something I have enjoyed. I love the feeling you get after a successful race or even just a long run. Running is where I turn to for almost everything and is my passion. I come from a small school in Wyoming where running is not a very big thing but I still get to enjoy the sport I love with my few other teammates. I love being able to work together and strengthen our team while also strengthening myself. I have had many moments in my high school sports career where I have been able to feel very accomplished. An example was being the 3x regional 3200m run champion and 3x 3200m run state runner-up. I was also able to receive All-state and All-Conference Cross country and Track and Field honors for the 2015-16,2016-17, and 2017-2018 seasons. With my teammates I was able to place third high team in the 4x800 meter relay (2017) and win with a new state record in the SMR (2018). I have also had moments where running is not so fun such as injuries but what I have been able to learn from these is that I am strong and that with teammates and coaches along with my amazing parents I can accomplish anything I set my mind too. I know that with hard work you can accomplish anything and always improve as I hope to be able to in my remaining high school season and hope to be able to pursue in collegiate athletics.
However, when I am not in Cross Country or Track I participate in FFA, band, and student council. I have been a part of our school's student council for 5 years including this year and last year as class president. I also am in the Whitcomb FFA chapter and am currently serving as our Chapter President. I was able to participate in Creed speaking career development event (CDE) and the Agronomy CDE, as well as the Prepared Public Speaking Contest, where I have been able to win the district and regional contests and place 5th and 3rd at state. On top of all these activities I am able to obtain my 4.0 GPA .I plan to attend college to obtain a degree in Physical Therapy.
During the summer I work for our family ranch by fixing wells, fence, and doing whatever I can to keep our animals well taken care of as well as preparing my steer for county fair. I enjoy working hard and in my free time my family and I enjoy going backpacking, hiking, and camping. I also participate in many church activities throughout the summer. I love my family, my god, and all those who help me and encourage me in all that I do.
I live in Rozet Wyoming with my four siblings and my parents. We run cattle on our ranch while also fixing wells and haying during the summer. I am a Junior at Moorcroft High School which is a 2A school located in northeast Wyoming and I hope to be able to run in college while still pursuing a degree in physical therapy. If you have any questions feel free to contact me or my parents. Thank You
