Personal Statement
My name is AnnaBeth Lemke and I’ve played volleyball for over nine years. I was first introduced to volleyball through a recreational league during elementary school. I went to try outs and the first time I touched a volleyball I was hooked. I’ve loved the sport ever since. Volleyball has taught me how to be a leader and how to be a great teammate. It has also shown me that even when things get tough, you have to push through. My academic goals for high school are to graduate with a GPA higher than a 4.0 and hopefully get a partial or full academic scholarship. My academic goals for college are to get a 4-year degree and pursue a higher degree in the medical field, nursing school, or become a doctor. One thing that is unique about my volleyball career is that I’ve had to perform at a high level of competition my whole life. I live in Huntsville, AL which is the third largest city in Alabama. I play on the varsity team for one of the biggest high schools in Huntsville and in the state. I also play on a highly competitive club team. I started playing at RCVC my thirteens year on a 133 team. By listening to my coaches and continuing to improve, I worked my way up. My fourteens and fifteens year I played on a two's team and by my sixteens year I earned a spot on the 161 team. This year I am the starting right side on the 171 Nationals team. I work hard every day to keep my spot on the teams I play on. So, being a hard worker is natural to me!
