Personal Statement
In 2009 on a family trip to Kentucky, I fell in love with the game of volleyball. My cousin played for Team Indiana Volleyball Club. I had never played an organized sport but was determined to learn the game and be a competitor of the sport. Playing volleyball has taught me how to be an overcomer, to trust the process and work as a team and to keep your eyes open. I feel as though I have been overlooked during my volleyball career because of my outwardly quiet demeanor. I have taken those setbacks and stayed focused. Thriving as a defensive player, I received the following volleyball awards or achievements: the Coaches Award for leadership in 2016, Team Best Defensive Player awards in 2016, 2017 from the Libero and Defensive Specialist position.
I'm looking for a program that will be a good fit for me personally, athletically as well as academically. My desires beyond college are to be a productive citizen and use the skills learned in volleyball to compete in the game of life. I am certain, that I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but the character, work-ethic, and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on your program.
