By playing in college I can achieve my dream of playing at the next level. While attending college I plan to major in either kinesiology or physical education so that one day I could be a volleyball coach. My goals as a player are to take what I learn in college and transfer it to my future players, improve on my technique and volleyball IQ, and stay on top of my studies in the process. Coachability is one thing that I stress on myself as well as others. Being able to take constructive criticism and implementing it into your game is a characteristic that is one of the most, if not the most important, characteristic an athlete can obtain. By volunteering at the middle school in my area, playing club, and playing at my school, I am constantly learning and improving on my technique. While playing the sport is one thing, I believe that teaching is also important. Sharing your knowledge and fundamentals with younger athletes allows you to grow as a leader and an overall person.
