Abree Toews '22 Recruiting Profile

Hi!

My name is Abree Toews and I am a multi-sport athlete attending Medicine Hat High School in Medicine Hat, AB Canada. I am currently a junior and will graduate in 2022. Why pick the girl from small town Alberta? Let me tell you why!  Sports and competition are a big part of who I am. I have an internal drive and motivation to constantly improve my skills and be the best athlete I can be. I have an undeniable intensity about me that translates into my game play at all times. I strive to be a  great teammate and I am coachable - tell me how I can help make my team better and I will make it happen!  I have always competed at a higher level and have worked hard to keep my learning curve and skill level going up. 

I am versatile! Standing at 5'6" I have worked hard on vert training and I have the hardest swing of any girl my age in Medicine Hat.  With this combination, I have always played as an Outside Hitter and continue to do so to date.  In doing my research, I know that my height limitations will allow me to soon display my great defensive skills as well!  I pride myself on my back row defense and welcome the opportunity to become a great libero/defensive specialist.  

I work hard at my academics! I believe that education is very important and I am looking for a balance between having a strong education while playing post secondary volleyball at the college level. In my down time, I enjoy art and spending time with my friends and family.
