I am updating my profile in my Freshman year at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, CA. I have completed 25.5 college credits through December 2016 and am currently enrolled in 21 units in the Spring 2017 semester. I played three sports (volleyball, basketball, and beach volleyball) my freshman year at Saddleback College, and will accumulate 46.5 college credits with a current GPA of 3.88. I am eligible to transfer to a four-year university as early as Fall 2017 and would consider transferring in 2017 or 2018 depending on the roster needs of the school. I love Saddleback College and the team I play for, but I don't want an opportunity to play at the next level pass me by.
I graduated from Combs High School in 2016 (San Tan Valley, AZ) where I was an honor student and three sport starter (indoor volleyball, basketball, and beach volleyball). I started classes at Saddleback in the summer of 2016 where I was recruited for volleyball and beach. I actually played three sports in college including basketball this season for Saddleback. During my freshman volleyball season I played as a setter, opposite, and DS, and was a team captain. I learned so much and I made the transition from high school to college level very well. The speed and pressure of the game are much more intense and I transitioned well to the quick offense and quick sets while still remaining calm during stressful points in the game. My teammates have commented that they like that I can keep the team calm and focused and I listen to their requests for adjustments on my sets. My coaches have told me that I am a great leader and team player, the hardest worker, and extremely coachable.
I am a dynamic athlete with quick feet; a work horse that is offensive-minded, and an energetic team leader. I work well in a fast, up-tempo offense. I can be an asset at setter, libero, and DS. Nobody will outwork me on the court, and I am an excellent student. I plan on going to medical school where I can become an OB/GYN or pediatric surgeon.
I earned first-team all-state honors in high school for volleyball, and first-team all-conference honors in basketball during my high school career, and while at Saddleback I was a February Spotlight Athlete for the Orange Empire Conference.
