Personal Statement
Eat. Sleep. Volleyball. This statement pretty much sums up my life. Outside of my family and school, volleyball is my primary focus. Ever since my first practice at age 11, I knew I wanted this game to be a part of my life. My passion for the sport, drive, and determination to improve each and every day are part of what make me a great fit for any team. Additionally, the core values of cooperation and dedication add to my athletic ability on the court.
One of the main reasons I fell in love with volleyball is because of my family's ties to the sport. My grandmother, mom, and aunts all played and/or coached. They are all educators as well. Playing volleyball on the collegiate level would help me combine two of my passions. One is to pursue a degree in the Education field. I want to teach mathematics at the intermediate level. The other, to be a part of a great volleyball program and lend my talents to help the program achieve new heights and bring positive attention to the team, athletic program, and school as a whole. Earning a scholarship and a position on a collegiate team would put me one step closer to accomplishing both.
