Indoor/Beach Club: Pallavolo Sports 2019-2020 - Greg Poitras

Hi, my name is Kirsten Hill and I am a student athlete in the 12th grade at Mount Boucherie Secondary School in West Kelowna, BC.

My primary position of the past three seasons has been right side hitter and my goal is to develop and grow into a dominant left side hitter in the future. I am a focused player who encourages my teammates to be the best they can be and I love playing a lead role in big game situations.  I was named to the All Star Team at the Grade 9 and Grade 10 BC School Sports Provincials.

From playing middle with Team BC in the 2018 BC Summer Games to playing Right Side with the 15U Team BC Zone 2 - Okanagan at the BC CUP 2019 (2nd place finish) I have learned to adapt and challenge myself with whatever role my coach requires.

My goal is to play post secondary volleyball at a competitive level while pursuing an education.  I continue to push myself to improve both physically and mentally and given the opportunity will rise up to challenge myself and teammates to be the best we can be as a team.

I appreciate you taking the time to read my profile and watch my spotlight videos.  I look forward to talking with you further about how I can fit in to your program.  Thanks so much!

Kirsten Hill - Class of 2022

TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND SUCCESS SPOTLIGHT:

For the past 3 years, I have trained weekly with Volleyball Canada's Regional Excellence Program at UBC Okanagan and have worked consistently with Pallavolo Sports with high performance skill based training for indoor as well as beach.  I have had an opportunity to help volunteer with our clubs younger team which has been very rewarding.  I was able to participate in a referee clinic and certification which has given me the chance to learn both sides of the game from a referee and athlete standpoint.

I have had the opportunity to be part of the TEAM BC Program for the past 4 years and have loved the competitive nature and the challenge to thrive in big game situations.  My TEAM BC ZONE 2 - Okanagan team won a Silver Medal at the BC Cup 2019 last summer, which was a highlight of the summer!

Team BC Select Program Summer 2020 (18U) - delivered online through a virtual program.  The Team BC Select is the top program for athletes in the Team BC Indoor pathway.  40 athletes selected and identified.
