Personal Statement
Working harder, seeking out opportunities and taking risks. This pretty much sums up my volleyball career thus far. I decided at a young age that I loved volleyball. I was tall and left-handed, so a number coaches saw potential in me, so I went to work. I have learned to seek out opportunities, finding camps, clinics and training opportunities every chance I get. My hard work paid off and I was invited to play on the varsity team at my high school my freshman and sophomore years.
I have learned that the things I want to do in life, and the places I want to go will not simply find or come to me, it is up to me to seek them out. This club season, my family and I have made the commitment to travel over 80 miles each way for my Club Volleyball team, SynergyForce 17-1 National for coach Addie Hauschild-Willis. We did this so that I could train and play at a higher level. I believe that this has helped me to improve all aspects of my game, playing in the open division at tournaments around the country. It also helped me to become a good time manager since I was traveling for practice three days a week as well as doing personal physical training on my off days. I love the sport and I love the diverse group of people I have met through volleyball experiences.
When I am not training for or playing volleyball, I enjoy singing and playing the guitar and piano. I am a member of the Chico High School A Capella Choir, a small Jazz group called Voce and Chico YoungLife.
I am excited to see what opportunities and challenges this club season will bring and I hope to continue my growth each and every week! My goal is to find a college that is a good fit for me, and where I can make a positive impact on both the volleyball program and the community. In the mean time, I will focus on getting good grades, getting stronger, jumping higher, being a good teammate and winning matches! Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile! Current video will be coming soon!
