Personal Statement
One of my goals is to run and eventually own a company. Watching my father explore various routes of self employment after 24 years of military service while working to complete his MBA motivated me to follow a similar path. We opened our own small, very small, business out of our garage just so that I could learn the principals of business. This is a major reason for me wanting to study business in college. I became interested in volleyball after watching a beach volleyball game on TV and then seeing a sign for beach tryouts. I played beach and then indoor club. I was only 11 playing with the 16's so my playing time was limited. However, that pushed me to train harder eventually making a 12-1 team the next year. Volleyball has been my passion ever since. I'm not all about drama, so even when we didn't win I have been able to remain positive or find myself motivated to improve and not get beat the next time around. I never let my emotions or disappointment get the best of me and I thank my little brother for that. He was diagnosed with Autism at age 2. After learning about Autism and the challenges he faces, I realize the problems or struggles I have are temporary, and I shouldn't let them be more than that. Getting a good education is my top priority, but I truly believe I would be a great addition to a college team because I'm coachable, hardworking, motived and have the skills to compete at the next level.
