Personal Statement
I, Lauren Altuna, am a dedicated and competitive 16 year old varsity volleyball libero at Whittier Christian High School. My love for the sport began in the 7th grade and ever since then I have been working hard to improve my skills. I hold high standards for myself by putting in extra hours, which has earned me the role of team captain for the past 3 years on my club team. Because of my passion for the sport, I have earned the award of being the best defensive player for the past couple seasons. My leadership and positive attitude, which motivates the team, does not stop off the court. It is continued into my school life, which currently includes being involved in ASB (Junior Class Representative), Junior Class Council, and Link Crew. I am able to manage all of these activities, strive in my AP classes, and maintain my 3.7 GPA. In addition to playing volleyball in college, I have a desire to major in either Business, Communication, or Sports Management.
