Lillian Barber '16 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5'6" Libero/DS from Corte Madera, California. I tried out for the High Performance program for the first time in 2014 and made the Youth National Training Team (A1). I play for Absolute Volleyball Club, now on 17-1s. Last year (2014) my 16-1s team finished 3rd in the American division at Junior Nationals.

I was a sophomore starter at Redwood High School. My freshman year I won "Freshman of the Year", and last year I won "Defensive Player Of the Year". I was the ace leader for the team. Along with winning my first North Coast Section title, we finished in the top 8 in California in Division 2.

Over the summer I play  beach and won NCVA’s “Best of the Beach” in 2012 and the USA Volleyball’s NorCal Open in 2011. My partner and I have won over five tournaments.

I am in the Redwood Honor Society, and active in our student body orientation and support group, Link Crew. I currently have a 3.7 GPA.

Volleyball  has been a passion of mine since elementary school and I love it. My philosophy is to always strive to get better. I crave the highest level of play.

I am looking for a very competitive volleyball program where I can find the right balance between the classroom and volleyball. I would like to pursue a university with a good academic reputation. Ideally, my athletic environment would be one where I can be challenged and make an immediate contribution to the team.
