Personal Statement
I love volleyball and am really excited about getting a chance to excel at a high college level. Ever since I was little I dreamed of playing under the bright lights with a huge crowd cheering. To make this dream come alive I have worked countless hours to become the player I am today.
Starting with a park league, where we would catch and throw the ball as a pass, to now running down balls in the bleachers, I have greatly grown in multiple aspects. These include the “run-down” defense that I find so much fun as well as blocking and attacking straight down. I also feel that when I get a set in a game, I am able to see an opening on the court and place it there. I love tricking players with these shots!
Another thing that I love is getting substituted into a game when it’s 24-24 and being asked to make a winning play. I feel that I am even more focused than usual and am able to pull it off.
Even though I have dedicated so much time to getting better at this sport, I still managed to have time to learn to play the violin. As a sixth grader, I made it into the top orchestra and have done it again in high school. I enjoy having a full plate and learning new things everyday.
