Volleyball has been a huge part of my life ever since I was young, whether it was my grandmother coaching, my mother playing in beach tournaments, or watching old game footage of my cousins playing in college. When I first began playing the sport, it was a way to stay fit and healthy, but as I developed as a player, volleyball became my addiction. Every practice was another opportunity to improve at my weaknesses.
Now, after completing my second high school varsity season as a sophomore, I have learned a lot about the kind of player that I am. I am extremely committed and make it a point to show up to all practices early and with an open mindset. Leadership is another quality that I also possess. I build up my teammates, and push them to play in a way that highlights the entire team as well as themselves. I try my best to practice humility, being humble and not forcing myself into the spotlight, brings the spotlight to the team.
I am a hardworking student, and a hardworking athlete. I work extremely hard to maintain a high GPA while taking honors courses. I have a great respect for school, and a great respect for my teachers and coaches. As I've developed as a player and student athlete, I have come to the conclusion that combining both my passion for volleyball, and my love for school and learning, is the best way to further succeed in my future.
