Personal Statement
In everything I do I aspire to do the best I can while being the best person I can be, whether it be in academics, athletics, or other activities. As a sophomore on varsity I really had to prove myself, earning 3rd for hitting in the league, being the 1st non-senior for hitting, and 2nd non-senior for kills; all while maintaining straight A’s and balancing AP courses. Even in club, on a team with 6 girls playing high school with our head coach, it was hard to impress her to really take a place on the team, so I had to be flexible and was later voted the best hitter. Since the first day I stepped on the court in fifth grade, I instantly knew it was something I wanted to do and I never looked back. Throughout the college experience, I hope to grow in knowledge, in my volleyball career, and as a person as a whole. Since I was 12 I’ve hoped to pursue a career in oncology and a major in either science or math. As I move into the workforce I hope to do something I love: put smiles on people’s faces, help them to the best of my ability, and bring some hope in a time of darkness. I strive to bring a positive attitude, a passion to play, and the willingness to learn and reach my full potential. Both on and off the court I hope to grow in my character to reflect positively on my team, my coaches, and the school.
