I am currently in the class of 2020 at Bentley Highschool in Lafayette, California. I have been playing club for the last 4 years and my past three years of playing club have been at Absolute Volleyball Club and before that, I played at Golden Bear. I am currently apart of RedRock 17 1s club team. At school, I have started on varsity since freshman year as an MB and OP and I was awarded team MVP last year and Player of the Bentley Classic Tournament award. Along with this, I was awarded being the top server in D5 Northern California schools. This season, I am proud to have been apart of a historical season where our team went farther than any woman's sport in our school's history, to the NCS finals. Aside from my accomplishments in volleyball, I have been an active member of my school's community. I co-founded the "Future Medical Professionals Club" which I've dedicated a lot of time into. I play an extensive role in our Black Student Union and Women of Color Club, I am an ambassador for the admissions department, and I am taking rigorous seminars this year based on my interests.
My love for volleyball began in middle school when I first started peppering for fun with my dad in the backyard. He encouraged me to try out for a club team and nervously, I did. Since my first season ever playing volleyball, my love for being apart of a team that becomes your family has only grown. One of the things I am most proud of as an athlete is my coachability and work ethic. I am always striving to improve my technique and sense accountability for my team. I am very open to constructive criticism and learning new things that'll help me improve as a player on and off the court. I can't wait to bring my drive and passion for volleyball in my upcoming college years.
