Personal Statement
My dream is to play college volleyball for your great academic institution. Learning about life through volleyball is one big reason why I continue to train hard and thrive to excel in it.
I believe that being a college athlete is not only about the performance on court, but also about the need to balance academic achievements with training regimens, learning about nutrition and sleep to prepare my body, and commitments I made to my team and teammates. I travel up to 5 hours round trip, 3 days a week for volleyball club practices while maintaining a #1 class rank with a 4.5 weighted GPA and a 1420 SAT score. I learned how to sleep, change uniforms, eat, and study in the car when I traveled, and used the commute time to bond with my family. I learned the value of time management and enjoyed every moment of it.
I love volleyball team's camaraderie and enjoy sharing my joy for competition with my best friend teammates. I also love the blessings of giving and receiving encouragement from them in practices and games. It brings me even greater joy when my underdog team defeats a bigger and/or better team because we work together as an unselfish unit.
Volleyball continues to teach me about life each and every day. I want to succeed not only as a player but also as a productive member of our great country and this beautiful world we live in. Please allow me to have this wonderful opportunity to play for your program.
