Personal Statement
I grew up in Folsom, California and have always had a very outgoing and bubbly personality. I have been playing volleyball since I was 10 years old and have loved the sport ever since. It has always been a dream of mine to play in college and I continue to dedicate my time and efforts to the sport and my academics.
My proudest accomplishment in my volleyball career was winning Section Championships. However, what really pushed me to be my best was losing the year before. The pain and hurt that I felt after losing that match was almost unbearable. I think because of losing that match it pushed me, as well as my teammates, to work harder and dig deeper to win the Section Championships that following year.
I have 2 older brothers but only grew up with one. He was able to shape me into becoming a very competitive athlete. Unfortunately, one of my brothers passed away at 2 years 9 months which is why my jersey number is always 29. This tragedy influenced me by giving me hope and a drive to do everything to my best abilities because you never know when a life can simply be over. This also created my playing and lifestyle in being a risk-taker. In matches I try to make the impossible, possible.
