Personal Statement
Anyone who has ever even been in contact with me knows the true nature of my competitive spirit. I want to win, I want to defeat, and I want to conquer just like every other athlete; but that is not the extent of my competitive spirit. In every circumstance, big or small, I try my best to be the best. It’s not about destroying the competition to get the glory or to get the praise but about feeling the overwhelming satisfaction of working the hardest and overcoming challenges. This competitive spirit has been passed on to me from my dad. Throughout my whole life, I have heard that the only way to succeed in life is to strive for greatness at every single thing you do.
My competitive attitude has not only helped me be a varsity starter for volleyball all four years of high school but has also allowed me to lead my team to a victorious conference championship as well as make it to the division championship against all odds. I’ve received numerous awards including player of the conference and became a team captain as a junior. I’ve maintained a solid GPA, played a varsity sport every sports season, and am involved in the student body. I want to study kinesiology in a university that will push me to become the best that I can be wherever that may be. Because of my skills, hard-working attitude, strength of character, leadership, determination, and competitive nature, I believe that I am a strong candidate for your team.
