Personal Statement
Volleyball has been full of gifts for me. It brought me out of my shell when I was a shy middle school girl and I discovered that I had a talent that I never knew I had. Volleyball has allowed me to develop my most cherished friendships though my high school and travel teams. Playing volleyball has helped me develop confidence and I have blossomed in high school because of it.
I started travel volleyball a little later than some, in my freshman year of high school, but my coaches saw my drive and I have been able to gain skills and win spots on better and better teams each year. I’m always looking for opportunities to improve and I simply love the game. This year, I made my high school varsity team as a junior and won the “Coaches Award” because my coach sees me as one of the hardest workers on the team.
What my teammates like about me is that I always have a good attitude and I’m energetic and try to make them laugh. I always have fun when I play and I want my teammates to enjoy the game as much as I do too.
Academics are extremely important to me so I will be looking for a school that has strong STEM programs first and foremost, and being able to play volleyball at the college level would be icing on the cake!
