Hello. My name is Kendall Platt and I am a 17 year old Senior at Yorba Linda High School in Yorba Linda, California. My immediate goals are to continue playing volleyball for my high school and club teams, while pushing myself both in and out of the classroom. I currently have a 4.3 GPA and have earned the honors of a "Scholar Athlete" every semester at Yorba Linda. I intend on working hard to maintain these standards, as challenging as it is at times. As I prepare for college, my future goals are to continue playing volleyball at the collegiate level, while pursuing a college degree. At this point, I do not have a specific career in mind however I value education and am focused and determined to earn a degree.
Competitive volleyball has been a constant in my life since the age of 10 and I have fallen in love with the sport. Not only do I find it exciting and energetic, but it also challenging and motivating. I have played many positions on the court including libero at a young age. Having played many positions on the court has helped me become a very well rounded player and an good passer. In my 6 years of club volleyball with the Goldenwest Volleyball Club in Anaheim, California, I have been a team player and captain and continue to push myself to improve. For the past couple of seasons on both my high school and club teams, I have played outside hitter while still being a 6 rotation player for both teams. It has been a real positive experience for me. As a Freshman three years ago, I earned a spot on the Varsity team and started the entire season at outside hitter. For my Sophomore year, I earned honors of 1st Team All League and was awarded the "Captains Award" at the banquet. The award was described as a person who leads by example and emulates the work ethics and skills that all other athletes should strive to follow. This past season, I again earned the honors of 1st Team All League and was awarded the "Offensive Player of the Year", finishing the season with a team high, 308 kills. The experience has been invaluable both on and off the court. I am looking forward to beginning my Senior season as team captain and a leader on and off the court and am thrilled to continue to grow as a volleyball player. I truly enjoy the opportunity to be a positive contributor to our success.
