Personal Statement
The first time I stepped onto a volleyball court was 6th grade. I had no knowledge of this sport and honestly didn’t really want to be there. My mom made me do school volleyball thinking I would love it. And man, was she right. That choice of going to school volleyball that day after-school was the best choice of my life. If someone would’ve told me the 5th grade I was going to be on Varsity at Cherokee Trail High School, I would’ve laughed at them. My heart was set on gymnastics. Volleyball is more than a sport to me though, it’s a way for me to be a leader to my team and make amazing friendships. I absolutely love being a setter because I bring the team together. I am committed to improve and make my coaches proud. But besides volleyball, I am an IB student at Cherokee Trail and try my absolute hardest to get good grades. For my actual major for college, I’m still unsure. I hope to talk to different college coaches about the major's schools have and what they can offer me to help me decide. I know all my hard work the next 4 years of high school will pay off because I want to find a college that I feel the connection with.
