Personal Statement
The first time I realized volleyball was a strong passion of mine was my first year of the club season. My best friend and I decided to play, she got put on the 1s and I got put on the 2s team. Unlike the rest of the club, it was my first playing. During this season we probably won around 4 games. I never once saw being on the 2s team as a "disadvantage" or being on " the worst team". Instead, that season I grew as a player, as a teammate, and as an overall person. I learned that it doesn't matter what team you're on or who you play for, you give it your all, you support each other, and only a team can win. I grew up in a very supportive household and had lots of inspiring coaches and that has really shaped me into who I am today. Playing volleyball has really shown me my true potential. I've learned that I'm a very good team leader and I'm extremely competitive. My peers would describe me as outgoing, funny and kind-hearted. I plan on being successful the rest of my high school career, good grades don't come easily, meaning I need to work a lot harder for what I want. I feel that this builds a very good work ethic, not only in the classroom but on the court as well.
