Personal Statement
My collegiate aspirations reflect who I am as a person - well rounded. I hope to gain a lot out of college, but there is not one single focus. Currently, I am maintaining a 3.4 GPA and have participated in yearbook and drama at my school. I've played varsity both my freshman and sophomore years, in addition to several years of club, and I am involved with my local church and youth group.
I am searching for a smaller school, possibly Christian-based, where I can continue my volleyball career as well as pursuing a degree in liberal arts. I have not yet decided a specific major or career, but I definitely value a quality academic education. Both of my parents are college graduates and my father taught high school for many years. They have definitely instilled the value of education in me. I've also seen how my oldest brother has made lasting friendships in college and I hope to do the same.
I have not been singularly focused in volleyball either. I have been a libero/ds, outside hitter, and more recently, setter and opposite playing in a 6-2 system with both high school and club. Opposite and setting are my preferences, but ultimately I will want to help my team in whatever way is most beneficial.
