Hi, my name is Rylan Pollard. I am a Junior at Cherry Creek High School. I play club volleyball for Colorado Juniors on 17-1 Andy. I am a 5’10” left handed opposite pin hitter who can play outside as well. Being left handed has been advantageous in that I am difficult to read. I am also passionate about sand volleyball which has given me more experience and ball control. My 12's and part of 13's year, I also set in the back row and hit in the front row. Last year, during the Reno National Qualifier, where I helped my 15-1 team qualify for Nationals, I sustained an ankle break. I healed quickly with the help of physical therapy and was back in time for Nationals. My vertical jump is a constant work in progress since my injury. I have a vertical jump of 9’8 and will continue to work towards that 10’ vertical goal. My parents owned a volleyball club and my mom has coached ever since I can remember, so I literally grew up in a gym. I started playing club volleyball when I was nine years old and have been playing club ever since. I also played soccer since I was 5 years old and three years ago, I made the tough decision to solely focus on volleyball. I also have been playing beach recently a lot and have played in some out of state tournaments, so now I play sand at least twice a week! I strive to maintain a positive mental mindset throughout my game for myself and my team. My work ethic is strong and only getting stronger as I grow in my experience. I am extremely dedicated to receiving an academic and athletic scholarship by working hard in school, on the volleyball court (indoor and outdoor) and in the weight room. It would be my absolute dream to attend a Division I or II college and win a National Championship. I think I would be a great asset to your program because I am driven, hard working, passionate, and I have a strong, positive mental attitude.
