Personal Statement

My Collegiate Goals and Aspirations

  • When I graduate from High School I plan to go to college for a criminal based degree. After college I want to go into law enforcement. My degree will enable me to be a better person and prepare me for my future job in law enforcement.
  • My volleyball goals would be to make myself better and my teammates better.

What makes me a good candidate for your team.

  • I have been playing sports since forth grade so I have a great understanding for the game.
  • I love to play volleyball.
  • When I do anything weather its in sports, school work or my job I put my best effort into it at all times if it is an opportunity to make myself better and my team mates better I will push myself and other people.
  • I am a good leader and team player in 2013 I was selected as a Union Pacific League Honorable Mention Setter for the League.
  • In 2014 I received All Conference for Union Pacific League.
  • In 2014 I received Academic All State Honorable Mention from Colorado High School Activities Association I know how to work hard in the classroom and keep my grades up.
  • I have helped my team make the regional tournament two years in a row, and last season we lost in regional to the state runner up.
  • I have been the starting setter for the varsity volleyball team at Genoa-Hugo, Genoa-Hugo/Karval all three years of my high school career.
  • I love to study other team’s offense and defenses then prepare my hitters on where to hit and cover so we can beat teams.
  • I am on my high school volleyball leadership team.
  • I have been a captain on my high school team for three years.
  • This year I was chosen to be apart of the National Under Armour Volleyball Factory and this summer I will travel to Texas to train with them and also have the opportunity to train in Nebraska during the NCAA Championship and Colorado at the U.S. Olympic Complex.
  • I have coach youth at the FCA summer camp for 3 years.
  • I was selected to attend New York Regional Showcase in Colorado in June.

What makes me different from other recruits character, athletics and academics?

  • For academics this summer I was selected to attend the State Patrol Youth Academy, this was a prestigious selection.
  •  I am ranked 4th in my class by GPA.
  • My junior year I was Honorable Mention for the Academic All State award which is given by CHSAA.
  • I am an office holder on Student Council at Genoa-Hugo High School.
  • I am a member of Up-Standers a group to prevent bullying in my high school.
  • Also I live 30 miles from the school so I am use to traveling 60-100 miles a day.
  •  I have a very busy schedule because I play Basketball and Volleyball I have a lot of responsibility.
  • I am a leader, I have 5 siblings and live on a ranch this requires me to help watch my sibling, and teach them how to do things around the ranch right.  I am from a ranching family, so I know how to work hard and work with others.
  •   I have competed in rodeo with my family sense I was four years old and we travel thousands of miles a year.  And have to work hard at the rodeos feeding and caring for the horses and competing against people form all over the united states. I feel this has better prepared me for the demands of travel and staying up with my school work at the college level.
  • I have a heart to compete, a desire to make myself better, and a devotion to my TEAM.
