Personal Statement
I have been a student athlete for the majority of my academic career and I have enjoyed the experience so much that it is one of my many goals to continue with volleyball throughout the collegiate level as well. Volleyball has been my main sport for the past four years and has taught me what it means to be a good teammate, leader and athlete.
Being a student athlete has pushed me to new levels of success both in the classroom and on the court. During my freshman year of highschool I obtained a 4.31 GPA and I am currently seeded second in my class. Taking all honors core classes and an Advanced Placement Class as well, I learned how to balance my varsity sports and my schoolwork in an efficient way that allowed me to stay ahead in both settings. I am working toward my AP Capstone diploma.
Next season of club will be my fourth season. As the team captain for each team I have been on, I have learned to motivate, encourage and support my teammates on and off the court. I am an extremely passionate player and I will never give up on a play. I give 100% on every play, set, and match. I am a very versatile player as I have had training in multiple positions including outside hitter, defensive specialist, and setter. For both my varsity high school team and my club team this year, I played as an all around outside hitter, but I am always willing to learn a new position and work around what my team needs.
Playing at the collegiate level has always been a dream of mine. I enjoy pushing myself to get better in everything I do and I am looking for a team that will challenge me to increase my skills and versatility as a player. I am willing to work hard for what I want and to achieve my goals using my strong work ethic. I am passionate about being on the court and cannot wait to see what the future holds for me in regards to my academic and athletic careers.
