Mercedes Shea '24 Recruiting Profile

Playing college volleyball has always been my dream, and I'm working hard to make this my reality. I started playing volleyball in fifth grade, and fell in love with the sport. Since then I have dedicated a portion of my life towards this passion. I have played DS, Libero, all around Outside Hitter, and Setter throughout my career making me versatile. No matter where I am on the court, I'm an  active and devoted player. On and off the court I am a strong leader. Being president of my class, FBLA, Skills USA, my 4-H club, and a representative of Council and Student Government, I am a natural leader by always trying to make the environment around me better. This leadership is shown on the court. I have been a Varsity starter since my Freshman year. I received All-Conference Honorable Mention my freshman year, and All-Conference my sophomore year. I am a current stat leader for my league and team this current high school season, being an all around outside. This club season I switched my position to DS and Libero for competitive  club season. Academics are extremely important to me. I currently have a 4.1 GPA, and  I am ranked second in my class. I am an exceptional student-athlete. In college I plan on studying Criminal Justice, Psychology, or something Law related. I am both competitive in academics and athletics. Throughout this recruiting process I trust completely in Gods plan, and can't wait for the future!
