Personal Statement
I am devoted to playing volleyball and would enjoy playing it at a higher level. I would also adore playing for a school that has good academics that can help me reach my goal. I am a hardworking libero, I don't give up on balls easily. I love the feeling of having many good ups in a rally and the feeling of never quitting no matter how hard I need to work. I am a quiet leader, I am rarely the person that will get on you about something. I am usually the one who helps people when they need it. I may be loud on the court, but to me, I would rather lead by example, than by words. I support all my teammates no matter if I am having a good or bad day. I am very dedicated to my sport and will give 100% no matter the case. I hope that my teammates would be the same and work at the same level as me. I am putting in so much time on and off the court by training hard. I am determined to get better by the end of the club season and can't wait to see how I have grown.
I also know that the mental part of volleyball is just as important as the physical part. I know this because I want to show the other team after I make a mistake, that I will fix what I did wrong and will do it correct the next time. I always have something encouraging to say to my teammates when they might be down or just made a mistake. I always want my teammates to be in the same mindset as me and know that even though they made a mistake that they are going to get the next one.
I am just as serious about academics as I am with volleyball. I am very interested in studying physical therapy, but I am not quite sure if I want to study that just yet. I work very hard during my classes and make sure that I have consistent grades and make sure they are good so I have a chance to go to an amazing school.
I am very competitive and like to be pushed by other people. I love to have competition because it makes me want to work ten times harder. Being competitive makes me want to win everything, but what I have learned is that win or lose I still learned something.
