Personal Statement

I started playing volleyball my freshmen year of highschool and ever since I have wanted to play in college. My freshmen year was so much fun, I had some of the best coaches I had ever met. They taught us that this sport was rewarding while also enjoyable. Sophomore year was not my best year, I found myself struggling to maintain confidence and as a result I feel that I lost some motivation to play. However, over the offseason I started to regain my confidence in the sport and eventually went on to start varsity as a junior, on a team that had many seniors. I have recently been selected as team captain for the 2019 season, and I could not be more excited! My main goal for college is to better myself not only as a player, but also a person. I look forward to (hopefully) being on a well bonded and close team that all shares the same love for the sport. I personally think that I am able to work well and get along with most people and this is a huge factor in team sports, especially in volleyball, where communication is one of the most important aspects.
