Volleyball has always been a big part of my life. As a kid, my family and I were always huddled around the television discussing volleyball and all of its rules. To grow up around the strategies and athleticism of volleyball has exposed me to the mental aspects of the game. So when I started volleyball, I spent countless hours in the gym, and through dedication and hard work, I improved how I played. I fell in love with the game. Being surrounded by volleyball my whole life, I have come to understand and see the game in a different way.
Volleyball has given me so much. The sport has taught me self-confidence, pushed me to overcome failure, and helped me grow overall as a person. Being on a team has given me friendships that I would not have otherwise and has given me a great sense of comradery with my team. All of these traits have been cultivated through different experiences and difficult lessons and have shaped my playing style to what it is today. In college, I want to succeed both in the gym and out of the gym. I am looking for an experience that will expand my capabilities on the court and in the classroom at an elite academic institution, helping me reach my goals of becoming a well-rounded person. In this next chapter of my story, I want to continue to grow by staying academically rigorous, and push myself to be an even better player, teammate and leader.
